Post Surgery

So I fell off the wagon with blogging while I was off recovering from ACL Replacement Surgery. I stayed very busy and productive while off work and enjoyed every second of it, well maybe not the 100,000 seconds after surgery. After 3-4 days post-op I started getting around more. I got off my pain meds because they made me bonkers.

I had surgery November 24th, three days later my wonder bf drove me to Texas for Thanksgiving with my family. It was great. I was a little out of it from my meds but overall a good trip. We came back the day after Thanksgiving.
I had a nerve tap in my leg from Monday to Thursday. It was probably the most uncomfortable part of post-op. I couldn't put weight on my leg because of that. I also was just a crazy b*tch on my pain meds. Poor bf did a wonderful job taking care of me but really struggled with my erratic mood swings.
I was on my CPM (Constant Perpetual Motion) Machine about 6-8 hours a day. I did really well at staying on top of it the first few days, but not so good once I was able to get around. Once I was able to get around the house and do things I pretty much didn't stop moving. I believe that was good for my leg seeing how I didn't have much problems at Physical Therapy the first week.

I started Physical Therapy about a week after surgery which I was told is longer than normal, but I think since I had surgery the week of Thanksgiving my PT was pushed back a little. However that didn't slow me down. I was at PT for only 45 mins the first visit. But quickly bumped it up to about 2 hours within the first few visits. Now every time I go I stay 2 hours on average. I get a pretty good workout there and I LOVE my therapists and the staff.

I go to 5 Star Physical Therapy with Doug Arnold. He is amazing! My doctor told me I was ahead of schedule about a month post-op. I am able to do about anything. I have jogged a little (shhh! don't tell anyone) with my dog Blue. Oh yea I got a dog over the break! Post about that coming soon. I have been taking 1 yoga class a week for about 3 weeks now. Every week it gets easier and I feel stronger. I'm excited about running and continuing yoga teacher training in a couple weeks!

Thanks for stopping by, sorry I have been a slacker the past couple months!
